The Unity News Online

With UNITY 08 just around the corner, it’s time to start planning your escape from the convention hall. Many convention attendees, like me, will be first-time visitors to Chicago. Here’s what’s on my list to see. Hit the comment link and post your own list!

  • Shedd Aquarium - Get your zen on watching the dophins swim by at the “world’s aquarium.” www.sheddaquarium.org
  • Magnificent Mile - Shop ’till you drop and eat your heart out! Located in the heart of downtown Chicago, the magnificent mile is a stretch along Michigan Avenue of retail stores offering divine inspiration to the aspiring fashionista. With 3.1 million square feet of retail space, 460 stores, 275 restaurants, museums and entertainment, you’ll find what you’re looking for here.
  • Giordano’s - Giordano’s claims to deliver taste-bud rapture to locals and visitors alike, serving up Chicago’s famous deep-dish pizza. giordanos.com
  • Harold Washington Library Center - When it opened in ‘91, it was listed as the world’s largest library in the Guinness Book of World Records. With all that space, they’ve got more than books here. Check the list of speakers and special events before you drop by to use the free wi-fi. www.chipublib.org
  • Amazing Chicago Funhouse Maze - A lot can change with the help of a few slightly altered reflections. Enter into the city’s funhouse and walk out feeling good sans mirrors. Navy Pier. amazingchicago.com

Happy exploring!
